Yes it is crowned and yes it does look demonic. I took care of this gecko and the rest of a large collection for about a year when a friend was deployed to Iraq.  When my buddy got back he quite literally gave me a lot of very nice Crested and Gargoyle geckos from his breeding stock.  Didn't put many restrictions on what I could keep, but specifically and very humbly asked if I wouldn't mind returning this guy with the animals going back. And of course how could I possibly refuse?  Believe me I wanted to!  My friend also got several females impregnated by my males and a female Sara who was gravid with a clutch from my male, so all in all everybody came out a winner.    Anyway, I have several of this gecko's progeny although none seem to be developing the spectacular crowned trait to this degree.
