daytime lighting

I have a big window in my room, and i'm gonna put crestie's cage right out of the direct sunlight but close enough. I live in central NJ where's its fairly sunny. Do i need to provide daytime photoperiod?

only a few of my cresties have day lights on their pens, the rest just use natural light and they are all doing just fine. as long as its not REALLY dark in your room ambient lighting should suffice. I would imagine that these guys spend most of the daylight hours in the shade or hidden in a dark spot anyways so i would think you would be ok.

Yes-cresties are nocturnal and don't require a lamp unless they have MBD.
