leachies and chahoua

Hey,
Just out of curiosity I was inquiring as to people's personal experiences with the larger species within the genus Rhacodactylus, such as leachianus and chahoua.  Are they better pets than their more common cousins, the cresteds and gargoyles.  They look so awesome, if it wasn't for the hefty price tag, I would have one in a minute.  I know that they haven't been selectively breed nearly as much as the crested gecko for such specific traits as pinstriping and enlarged crests, but what can we expect to see in the future for leachianus and chahoua.  Any info and/or personal accounts of the joys of owning one (or more) of these magnificent animals would be greatly appreciated.

Hey don't forget the amazing Uroplatus !! There is the Henklie and the lined and the mossy, satanic, and ect... I own a Henklie and a Chahoua (hasn't arrived yet) The Henklie is just awesome to watch but will kind of stress out easy. I know some who are working on certain traits right now such as pied, dalmation, and stripes, oh and colors. As for the chahoua, I have gotten to be around one and because of his wonderful personality I have gotten one myself. I think people are mainly breeding for color traits on them, but not to sure.

Hey,
First of all, great pics of your Henklie.  They look so awesome and interesting.  I've always wanted to get one but I am to crowded with leopard geckos.  I haven't thought about looking around for any Uroplatus geckos for a while, so thanks for the reminder.  Again thanks for sharing your experience and advice.

It was by luck and chance that I have that henklie. I was a pet store find/ sort of rescue. I traded a few of my baby corns and got him. The pet store ( as with several other times) got him as an owner didn't want him any more. They seem to get several of them and they will take as many as they can but they can't take them all (other reptiles and animals). I've been pretty lucky in that I have such an amazing pet store here locally. You wouldn't believe how much that owner surrender has increased sense a petco has come to our town.
Any way glad I was able to remind you of the Uroplatus. They are an amazing group, and cicada hollow has some really cool satanics. she has a site it is http://www.cicadahollowcrestedgeckos.com/index.html. She always takes great pics. (as you can tell I look up to, and admire her  )

I love th uroplatus.  I only have one now, an ebenaui, but my favorites are the satanics.  I plan on getting a few of both this year.

It is the speartail. They look like the satanics just without the leaf looking tail.

Agreed 100% about Uroplatus!!  I love them.  I have Satanics and Lined.  A bit tough to get the satanic babies to survive after hatching but worth the effort.  Lined babies are much easier to deal with.

Leachies are awesome.  I have an Island E female that will be 2 years old in December.  She is magnificent!!

I can't speak from experience but from what i've read the chahouas usually turn out to be long term hobbyists or hobbyists who have kept all species' favorite of the rhacodactylus.  I cant wait to get mine.

I too would like to know more about you all's personal experiences with these two species.  I am really interested in the chewies.
